Observar

$175.00
sold out

Observar: to observe. When I began my art-making journey in Argentina years ago, I asked my artist friend how she could paint people without having a picture in mind or a model to paint from. “I see people all the time…why can’t I just remember what it’s supposed to look like, like you do?” I asked her. “To observe is different from seeing,” she said.

I painted this after closely observing a tree outside my window, because I wanted to capture trees in a truer way. I noticed the light and space shown through the branches and leaves and brought that to form in this imagined landscape.

~7.5 x 11 inches. Acrylic on paper with a deckled edge. Note that colors may alter depending on different screens & monitors. All sales are final. Allow 5-7 business days for your painting to ship.
